“MOVED FROM WITHIN”
June 1- 4, 2011
A FOUR-DAY YOGA INTENSIVE WORKSHOP WITH INTERNATIONLLY FAMOUS TEACHER
DONNA FARHI
In this 4-day intensive we will explore the many ways that we can access an awareness and trust in our own instinctual alignment process. Through developing a greater interior "literacy" we will learn to initiate movement from the core of the body and through the primary support of the breath. As we learn to feel and allow inner impulse to arise spontaneously we can become adept at adapting poses to our unique body structure. Using the human developmental movement patterns as our template, we will learn how to shape a sequential flow of force through the body in every posture.
Part of our shared inquiry in this intensive will be looking at the actual process of perception itself. When we abandon ambition and striving and replace these with innocent, unconditioned awareness, we are better able to truly perceive the body’s subtle messages and to skillfully respond in a way that brings about balance and integration. As we learn to let this larger mover guide our practice we open ourselves to our inner atman or wisdom mind.
Each day will be divided into a morning and afternoon class. Morning classes will consist of guided movement inquiries followed by intensive yoga asana practice, generally in the form of slow vinyasa. The afternoon sessions will include the practice of restorative postures, sitting meditation and Yoga Nidra as well as discussion of Yoga philosophy.
This intensive is suitable for those with at least one year of consistent yoga practice up to teacher level. Class numbers will be limited for this engagement and depending on numbers.
