Kurunta Yoga is the science of using ropes for alignment and creating more space in the joints. The Wall ropes provide exceptional tractions to the spine and whole body, working as a powerful remedy to back pain; arthritis, and other ailments. It is invaluable in hydrating the spinal discs, also helping to soothe the complex nervous system. This workshop is excellent for both students and teachers. $70 in advance or $85 at the door.

This workshop provides the yoga poses most effective in healing the common complaints of sore upper back, neck and shoulders. We learn how to counter these stress points in the trapezium and shoulder joints. Suzette continues to heal her own upper back injuries so knows first hand the yoga sequences which heal and stabilizes you. She will address the muscular-skeletal imbalances. Who should attend? We will include some Rope Tractions. Beginning yoga students; students with back challenges; persons wanting a safe approach; and yoga teachers. $70 in advance or $85 at the door.

Standing postures do it all! These demanding poses create alignment, strength, tone, balance, encourage weight loss, and prepare you for more advancing postures. Suzette’s insights to this always-popular standing posture series will delight and lift you to new levels of awareness. This course gives teachers of yoga clarity, power, and effective techniques. Saturday, May l7, 2 to 4:30 p.m. Inversions for Every Body!
Learn the most important yoga poses for everyone from new to advancing students and teachers. Suzette leads this dynamic workshop offering gentle inversions to the “new” students and complex variations for those wanting challenge. Take the fear out of handstand! Learn contraindications such as menstrual cycles or neck/shoulder injuries. Depending upon your needs, you may practice supported variations of head balance, elbow balance, hand stand, and shoulder balance…the four key inversions that create maximum mental and physical health! $70 in advance or $85 at the door.

Think of the body as a balloon filled with water. (That’s quite an accurate image actually.) To get the water to move around in the balloon you could shake it (with jogging) or you could turn the balloon upside down with yoga inversions. There are easy upside down postures for beginners without their risking more advanced inversions like head balance. Inversions also directly benefit the heart by increasing the volume of blood coursing through.

It is never too late to learn inverted yoga poses. According to Geeta lyengar, her father taught the Queen Mother of Belgium when she was 84.

Suzette shares with us her incredible sensitivity to the human body and how to open the heart like a flower to the sun. She draws upon restorative and therapeutics of yoga that will delight and charm you. Her 25 years of training and work with both healthy and injured students promise to provide a journey within that will reveal new aspects of consciousness and leave you with tools to transform your life. She draws upon her work as a reiki master, counselor and scholar of spiritual studies to help each of us leave the classroom feeling uplifted, happy, peaceful and fulfilled. Add her charming sense of humor and you this becomes a “fun shop.” We are delighted to be able to share it for the first time in Springfield. As founder and director of teacher’s training of The Yoga Studio of Johnson County in Kansas City, Suzette also publishes a column in KC Wellness Magazine. Her other published work includes “Yoga Balance” published by New Leaf, Atlanta, in l997.
